Canon E18 |

I was looking up information about my friend's camera and read something about
E18 which ruins your Canon camera. Its happened to ALOT of people, no matter
what Canon camera. It makes your camera stop working and people have not had
the best of luck when it comes to repairing or getting a refund on their
camera. Please be careful. Because I have two friends who own a Canon, I must
warn both of them. I don't know if the problem has been fixed or not, but just
be careful. If you type in a search engine:
Canon E18
things will come up.
I just want you to be informed about this, because I know that this is a brand
people indeed buy. |

| Quote: | Ofcourse You'll find more reports about Canon digicams than on, say, Samsung or most other brands because of the sheer number of digicams that Canon sell - nontheless it could be a factor in deciding which
digicam to buy.
I've had my Canon PowerShot A60 for 1 3/4 years now, no troubles this
far - and that's after nearly 6000 photos.
Local laws established to protect the rights of the consumer where I
live will help me should my A60 "go sour" - at least the first 2
years since the purchase. |
You could be right. It could be that the problem seems to be so big because of the large number of cameras that Canon sells. I haven't done any research on the subject of Canon's market share, neither have I researched errors on other brands of cameras, but still, when a camera that was properly handled breaks without any reason, that looks like something to be concerned about
If the camera is under warranty, the best thing you can do is take it to the official Canon repair shop. If it's not under warranty, there are some methods online that can be used to repair the camera yourself.
They won't help in each and every case, but they have helped a lot of people fix their otherwise useless cameras (since repair costs are almost equvalent to the cost of a new camera
E18 sometimes happens due to dirt getting stuck in the lens. You can use compressed air to try and get the dirt out. Another method is to tap the padded USB cover part on a hard surface, for example, a desk. Sounds silly, but I know a few people who fixed the camera this way. Probably the light tap got the dirt out of the lens _________________ What is a Canon E18 Error - http://www.e18error.com
