My apology for this n00b question...
I am trying to upgrade BIOS for my Dell Inspiron 5150.
I'd like to be advised about the followings.
1. What is the current BIOS version of my Inspiron 5150? Is it A25? Is
BIOS A25 made by Dell or Phoenix?
For details, please refer to information I've gathered below.
2. If my Inspiron 5150 does indeed use A25, am I able to upgrade it
straight to BIOS version A35?
While my Inspiron 5150 is booting, below the Dell logo, it displays:
====Start of Quote====
Dell Inspiron 5150 Series
BIOS version A25
====End of Quote====
While the above is being displayed hitting F12 takes me to the BIOS
setup screens The first screen displays:
====Start of Quote====
Dell Computer Corporation (www.dell.com)

Hello,
1..The bios is made by Phoenix but edited by Dell.
Your bios version is indeed A25
2..You can download en install the A35 update on the Dell website because it
is special designed voor your laptop.

I was a bit confused about what the maker of my A25 BIOS was, as in the
copyright section, both Phoenix and Dell were mentioned. Your
explanation makes sense to me. Thanks:)
Btw reading Dell Forum -> BIOS, I have found A35 is considered gold
with the fewest bugs and offer the best functionalities for Inspiron
5150. |
