scsi HD slow then IDE |
|
|
i have adaptec scsi card 19160 U160,
and 2 HD IBMIC35L036UW D210-0 SCSI (10,000 prm)
on dual pentume III machine, 1 gig ram
on win2000 (with latest SP).
these 2 HD install as software mirror.
i try to copy 2 gig file into these HD, the result:
as miror transfer avg: 13 MBps
as single HD transfer avg: 20 MBps
have a solution for this problam?
by the way, I try also WD 7,500 IDE, 120GB, the result is: 25 MBps |

All the results above are entirely as expected. Think about them and learn. |

Is disconnect/reconnect enabled in controller bios/driver tab.
Differences in write caching between the two modes (single vs mirror)?
Else it is the software raiding that adds the overhead.

Don't compare new IDE to old SCSI and then there is no problem.
Or check the specs before drawing conclusions. |
