I currently have 5900, but I just received my 6800.
I was wondering if I had to un-install my current nvidia drivers. Then
install the card. Or can I just remove the 5900 and replace with 6800
without uninstalling Im running the 7090 drivers to.

If your card is the 6800 0c you can enable the 4 hidden pipelines with
RivaTuner.

Most who try this are successful. If it does not work you just set it back
to default with rivatuner.
You can get it here :

It should say on the box it came in. Could be a plain 6800, GT or Ultra.

That part I got.

This part here >> 6800 0c << That '0c' part, that's what I want to
know about. I've also installed that RivaTuner, will look up what I'm
supposed to set and try that. Not worried about overclocking at all.
But 16 pipes is good :) 12 is a tad slow.

This is simply a soft registry edit? or is it actually flashing the vga
bios each operation? Anyway, I tried the RivaTuner approach, and while
it does come back after reboot and say that 16x1p and 5v are the
expected, Everest Home 1.51 says it's still 12.
Perhaps I'd have done better reading up on it a little first :) I may
have missed some important steps.

It is software.

Theses are my results from Everest Home Edition:

GPU Clock 351 MHz
RAMDAC Clock 400 MHz
Pixel Pipelines 16
Pixel Shaders 1 (v3.0)
Vertex Shaders 6 (v3.0)

I have the BFG 6800 OC

From Everest Home Edition v 1.51
I note that the pixel pipelines are in groups of 4, 3 enabled and
active, group 4 is masked out.
Vertex shaders should be 6, and it is 5. Vertex shader pipe 5 is masked
out. This is interesting, I'll be getting deeper into it.

Pixel Pipelines 12
TMU Per Pipeline 1
Vertex Shaders 5 (v3.0)
Pixel Shaders 1 (v3.0)

Memory Bus Properties
Bus Type GDDR3

Do all the 6800's come with DDR3? I thought only the GT and Ultra did.
