CPU and Video Card Temperatures? |
|
|
What are some general (by the thumb) rules on video card temperatures?
I have a P4 2.8 Gig CPU ( CPU = 41 C, mobo = 34 C) using Asus probe 2.
I have an Asus Video Suite V9280 (Ge Force Ti4200 AGP 8x) with GPU = 55
C and RAM = 46 C. Ambient temperature is upper 20's C (mild Australian
Summer)
On Hot days (over 35 c) and maybe playing games (Doom 3) the Video card
gets hot (over 55 C).
I do not over clock. Are these temps within safe bounds?
Cheers

Sounds ok by me. My Ti4200 gets hotter/cooler by a full 6 degrees depending
on the RPM's of the CPU cooler.
In my case the CPU airflow is blown towards my VGA card.

Anything less than 70 C is fine. On the FX and later series, the temperature
alarm comes on at 120 C or so...
In fact, the only time you should be worried about heat is if you are doing
voltage mods and some components begin to shift due to softened solder...

seems fine to me, I'd probably add extra ventilation (open the case+fan or
install an extra fan in the case with proper ventilation openings in it) if
the ambient temperature goes above 25°C.
