Yebbut, do you want to stream live video, upload a snapshot every x
seconds by ftp, embed stuff in pages on a server somewhere, run a
webserver direct on your machine, use it with chat programs (yahoo/MSN
etc)....
There's a multitude of different things you can do with a webcam - and I
doubt anyone here has the time or inclination to explain every single
possible thing you might be trying to achieve.

Apologies for my newbie ignorance.
All I want,is to be able setup a camera to use in a private chat room with a
relative who has a similar setup.
Where can I read up some tuition ?
