I just purchased a brand new monitor today (CRT, not LCD), and it works fine
but it seems as if the image on the left side is "squeezed". I mean that,
for example, the characters seem to be smaller (in width, not height) on the
first 3 or 4 inches of the monitor's left side of the screen, which makes
them look "squeezed" horizontally. This does not seem to be the case on the
right side of it (nor in center...only the first 3 or 4 inches from the far
left). Anyone has an idea what this might be or what causes this? I'd like
to look into this before returning the monitor, in case it's only a matter
of settings. Thanks!

There's no "setting" that will resolve this, return the
monitor.

you don't by any chance have accessory speakers either side of the monitor.

sometimes the magnets can do weird things with the tube guns

Nope...my speakers are on the top shelf, over the monitor. All I have
around the monitor is a microphone and cable modem on the right and a bunch
of pens and pencils on the left :-)
