Virginia - Reviewers at the renowned 'DPReview website'
(www.dpreview.com), have taken heed of the 'Husky' approach first
outlined in a usenet posting in November, and are now about to
purchase a 'Barbie' 35mm film camera to be used in a groundbreaking,
hitherto un-heard-of, testing methodology.
"We've been approaching this the wrong way, we now realise. When we
were rigorously testing and measuring all these cameras, we were
missing the point. We were just not 'getting our feet wet'", said
DPReview's head reviewer, Fred ('FourEyes') MaGoo.
"It's not about specifications and choice - all we need is a $16 Tandy
pen-digital, and a $15 Barbie 35mm, and we can put this whole
ridiculous digital-vs-film thing to bed. For GOOD!"
DPReview expects their comprehensive testing should be completed in
about 4 hours, depending on the availability of the local lab, and
they will finalise the report tomorrow. They expect to shut the site
down after a week, as it will, of course, no longer serve any useful
function.
