Vuescan Color space tagging |
|
|
I'm using Vuescan v7.6.75 scanning both color and black and white
photos. I have the Output color space set to Adobe RGB but in
Photoshop CS, it indicates that the tiff file isn't tagged with a
color space.
For my color scans, do I "Assign Profile" as "Adobe RGB"?
For my B&W scans, do I "Assign Profile" as "Gray Gamma 2.2"?
Does the newer versions of Vuescan tag the tiffs with the Color
Space?

Did you check 'TIFF profile' on Output tab?

Eric...
That fixed it with the color scans.
However, for the black & white scans it didn't. There is no
tag. The help eludes that the gamma used with Adobe RGB
is 2.2. Would I, in Photoshop, Assign Profile
"Gray Gamma 2.2"? |

Yes that's correct, Adobe RGB is gamma 2.2. If your PS working space
is Adobe RGB as well, make sure you also have Gray Gamma 2.2 selected
in your PS preferences. That will prevent surprises when converting
between Grayscale and RGB mode.
