Epson GT 7000 Scanner |
|
|
I have recently upgraded my computer to one running XP, however, I have
am unable to get my new computer to recognise the GT 7000 scanner. I
know that the USB ports on the new computer are working. I have looked
for updated drivers both on the Epson site and other driver sources but
so far I have not found anything suitable.
Can anyone suggest an answer to this problem or do I have to buy a new
scanner.

I suppose the OP has checked the Epson web site for drivers?

If the computer won't recognise the scanner, he won't be able to use
Vuescan with it.

Three years ago, on an older (but new/current at the time) Epson scanner
purchased in Japan, Vuescan did just fine without the computer "recognizing
the scanner".
It's quite likely Vuescan will work. Well, at least likely enough that
downloading a demo is worth the effort.

The GT-7000 is, I think, a Japanese product name, and there may not be
drivers for it under that name on any non-Japanese Epson sites.

I'm not familiar with Vuescan, however, I will have a look at it.

Yes as I stated I have checked the usual sites for drivers.

I purchased the scanner in the UK so I presume it was a European model. |

Go here for UK driver downloads.
http://emeasupport.epson-europe.com/downloads.aspx?LNG=en-GB
For the GT7000 try the Windows 2000 driver for Windows XP. There is not one
listed for XP, But the Windows 2000 drivers often work in XP.
If the GT7000 is a SCSI scanner and you are using Windows XP or Windows
2000, you need the ASPI drivers from Adaptec. Type aspi in the search box at
the bottom.

2000 driver and now the scanner is recognised and everything functions
properly. So you have saved me the cost of a new scanner.
