Many lasers, all the HPs I've used, have settings that affect how much
toner you use. Older ones, like the HPII actually have a dial (near
the toner cart) that you adjusts print density directly.
Later ones do it in software. Look at the printer settings, select
your printer, right-click for properties. In my HP4 under "device
options" there is a "print quality" setting with light, medium, dark.
Light uses less toner.
Otherwise, you can print smaller, scale the output, saves paper too if
you print 2 pages/sheet reduced, good fro drafts, web pages, etc.
Often a feature in the printing settings, or using a 3rd party app
