hp pavillion ZT1141s |

a FREIND? has asked me to look at his hp pavillion ZT1141s laptop, it wont
boot, just offers to boot from A: or CD drive?
I booted into the bios and it shows HD size as 0mb
I booted form a boot recovery cd (mag cover) and it seems no HD is present?
I removed the HD from side slot and then returned same drive to make sure it
was seated ok, same problem
Could an internal HD lead have come off? if so how easy is it to dissemble?
are there any other test I could run prior to getting a screwdriver out

They're very easy to disassemble, but once you do you might as well throw it
in the bin.
There's nothing inside you could repair.

Download the utility from the manufacturer's website and test the HD, but it
sounds dead to me.

Sounds dead to me as well. HP Pavillion's and Compaq Presario's are NOT
know for being reliable. Get business class laptops/workstations. 10x
better reliability.
