I have a Panasonic MFC8500 printer. It has been working fine for over a
year.

In the last month the following has happened about 5 times:
I click to print, or I insert paper into the manual feed after clicking
to print, and I hear a screech, and my PC shuts down immediately. A
cold shutdown.

I've changed printer cable (parallel) and reinstalled the driver.

It just happened again, and this makes me want to live on a farm, as
far away from technology as possible!!

Any ideas? Thanks.
