I have a Compaq M700 p2-366 laptop. The fan stops and then the systems
freezes. I have replaced the DC-DC power board and the fan.

Is there something in the laptop that controls the fan. I would have
thought it should be on all the time.

Thanks
Brian

Turned out to be a flakey ground connection to the blue wire on the
fan. I hooked up a jumper wire from a ground to the blue wire and fan
is running as it should.
