RIP Toshiba 2520CDT ;-( |

Hi All,
I posted the following on the UK list but realised this isn't a UK
problem ;-)
I'm trying to get this Toshiba 2520CDT going again for my mate.
You plug in the power (power LED green) and battery LED goes amber
(then green when charged).
You press the 'on' button and the HDD LED goes green and the CDROM LED
stays on also. You can also hear the HDD spin uo but there is no
display (internal or external) or BIOS 'beep'?
There is no extra memory to remove.
When you press and hold the power button it will turn off (after about
8 seconds) but that also seems a bit random (but it does turn off
eventually)?
So, I know this is no Cray but with built in FDD, CD, Serial, USB,
Modem, 2 x PCMCIA and what looks like a decent pair of speakers was
probably a reasonable 'tool' ?
So, eBay as spares, are there any further tests I could do or are
there any know 'issues' on this model that are easily (cheaply)
fixable please?
All the best ..
