Got an Advent 7018 laptop - no restore disk. Need to find the drivers
for the display adapter - I thought it was a Geforec 4 440 Go - but
nvidia drivers won't go on. Tried forcing them and it makes screen
garbled, having to use standard vga at moment. Problem I have is that
it is widescreen, so I need to find the drivers for it.

Anybody know where I can get any drivers for this piece of crap? Been
trying loads of drivers - this thing is driving me nuts. What sort of
laptop company builds laptops without a support website? Advent
Computers are obviously completetey shite - if they even exist
anymore, which I presume they don't. If they do then let me say they
are crapper than I thought possible

Any ideas? Been trying laptopvideo2go.com drivers but none of these
seem to work.

Thanks

Advent is a name used by DG Retail (aka PCWorld) for one of their own brand
ranges. There should be plenty of support for Advent on their website.
Have a look at www.pcworld.co.uk .

Thanks.

Been to their site. I've definitely got a geforce 4 440 go - which (as
pcworld's website explains) isnt supported by the detonator drivers.
The link for their graphics card drivers is str8 to nvidia. (Thanks
you, *******)

The hardware specs for the 7018 actually point to the 7017 page - which
is completely different (Thanks, you *******)

If you want a recovery CD, you can goto the dixons site and buy one for
£5 - although they don't have any for the 7018 (thanks, you *******)

I'm presuming the laptop is rebadged - although I have no serial no. so
what it is I havent a clue.

Pretty good reason never to buy a laptop (or anything for that matter)
from pcworld.co.uk
