I have several older Librettos (50,100,110) and have yet to get a
PCMCIA CD-Rom to work in any of them under W95 SR2+ or W98 SE. Other
types of devices work very well -- modems, HD Controllers, flash
adapters, ZIP Drive scsi, USB adapters in the 100/110, etc. My CD-Rom
is a new 16-bit Addonics. When I plug in the card, the system
recognizes the card, the drive powers up, spins up, and if a CD is in
the drive, spins several times. Windows sees the card, but not the CD
drive. I don't believe the CD-Rom is the issue. Addonics tech support
couldn't help me with their suggestions. Has anyone run into anything
like this, or can point me to some good info about getting these to
work? I've done the normal Google searches, but still haven't found
much helpful about this issue. Thanks for any help/suggestons!
