Changing my FX5200's fan, what should I buy? |
|
|
I've got a two year old FX 5200 64 MB and its lil ass fan hardly can
spin anymore, so it creates screen lockups and forces me to turn off my
computer, take out the card and put some kind of lubrificant in the fan
so it can spin again, but usually it works only for about 3 days (then
I gotta lubrificate it over again).
So what fan should I buy for my FX5200 to replace the one I got? btw,
can the GPU be kind of "hurt", i mean can my card start behaving
weirdly because of these lockups? |

If it's run at excessive temperature long enough it can damage itself.
Froogle "FX 5200 heat sink" and you'll get several pages of hits.

Just like leaving it a few seconds on when it starts to lockup. I was
mostly wondering this because I noticed a rendering bug in GTA San
Andreas that didn't appear before, and I wondered whether its origin
was software or hardware. |
