Any good front panel controller out there? |

Hi...thanks to read.
I've bought in a computer store the front panel controller you can see
there:
(sorry for the poor picture quality of the webcam, my digicam is out for
cleaning!)

Quite frankly... for a computer, it's useless! It can monitor the
HDD,CPU,VGA temperatures, but the controller doesn't allow an alarm set
point below 60°C for each. It can control a single fan, but only in 3 steps,
not linearly. For the controller to switch the fan from the lowest speed to
the next higher, the temperature must go well over 40°C wich is a non-sense.
There's no memory provision for when i shutdown the pc. Is there's a good
front panel that allows to control at least two fans in a linear way, that
have an alarm set point well below the 60°C of this one? A controller that
have a way to tap the +5V standby lead from the power supply (or using a
backup battery) to keep settings in memory would be great. Tell me your
experience with such panels. TIA for any replies.

Thanks Paul. I've followed your links and read all about those controllers.
Nice ones. But to be honest i need a more conservative way to read the
temperature and control the fans speed, without a software to install.
