Flashing battery LED |

My laptop (Gericom EVO) is almost one year old and the battery charging
LED has changed in the way it works.
If I partially charge the laptop the charging LED shows steady green as
it charges.
However, if I fully charge the laptop the LED flashes red and, when I
remove the AC adapter, it continues to do so. The battery icon on the
task bar shows the battery to be 100% charged.
As the battery discharges the LED continues to flash red until the
battery is almost discharged, when the it reverts to steady green. The
battery icon shows the gradually decline in charge.
Anyone any ideas on what is happening?
