I have an Asus P5S800VM motherboard with Intel processor.
It has just recently started booting to a warning that requires "F1" to
continue.
The warning is "CPU Fan Error! Press F1 to resume".
When I look in the BIOS the fan speed is shown in RED at around 1650 RPM.
I am thinking this is too low.
How can this be fixed?
regards

Ciao a tutti, anch'io sono stato fregato (ID 1812 - euro 642).
Dopo aver ricevuto il messaggio dei suoi "problemi familiari", ho
provato a contattare il sig. Manfrè con e-mail, telefonate e
sms....silenzio totale!!
Settimana prossima faccio subito la denuncia, mando la diffida e poi,
purtroppo, sarò costretto a ricomprarmi il frigo in un negozio.....

i just bought a creative 24 bit sound card. do i need speakers?

if so, why is it that a lot of PCs i've bought from the store would
play sound without external speakers?

I bought my Sony DVD burner DRU-510A about a year ago.

Reminds me, what's to stop them from including malware in their
drivers or firmware? If they are going to lengths to install rootkits
from audio CDs and maybe even filter and intoduce artifacts to audio
data, I could also expect that their DVD/CD burners may mess up with
audio streams and such in the name of fighting piracy.

I found a Shuttle AB60R mobo at a local store for $28 bucks. It should
work with a P4 Northwood 400 fsb cpu. I tried a 2.4 400 fsb celeron with
1 stick of pc3200 ram. Board refused to post. Swapped the Celeron into
current pc ,(Abit IS10) and it worked fine. Swapped the P4 2.2 400 fsb
from Abit board into Shuttle board, still no post. Tried the ram in all
4 slots, still no post. Tried 2 different power supplies, no joy.
Cleared the cmos, removed the battery, same result. Fans fire up, lights
on the board come on. When I remove the cpus they are still cool. It's
obvious they haven't powered up.
If the board had been damaged by static would the lights and fans still
come on?
If the ram was the wrong type wouldn't I still get some sort of sound
from the mobo? I seem to recall 1 mobo squawking mightly when I
installed the ram incorrectly.
I think I just bought a board with a dead cpu socket.
Any way to tell for sure?

Ciao a tutti!

Ciao a tutti.
