Athlon 64 3700
Abit AN8 mobo
Audigy soundcard
1.5 gigs memory
DVD burner
DVD player
Sapphire X800 GTO2 (bought a better cooler and will unlock all
pipes/overclock it)
Some USB ports, a few fans in the case (3, I think)

The power supply in my case is a 420 turbolink and I doubt it is
enough. It was running fine with my old mobo, Athlon 64 3000, Radeon
9800 Pro AGP, and 1 gig of memory, but I figure this new stuff will
use a lot more power?

Reemmber also it's not just about the watts required. It's also very

much about the amps on the rails, and the stability that these rails can
be powered. Go for a trusted brand such as Seasonic, Antec, Enermax, PC
Power & Cooling, etc.

Why do you think your current setup will use much more power than your old
setup?

The only components that matter:
- A64 3000+ to 3700+ (really 2.0 GHz to 2.4 GHz)
- 9800Pro to X800GTO2
Neither represents a significant increase in power consumption.

So keep using your existing PSU. If you experience cold-boot issues or
random crashes, spend $60 on an Antec or Enermax. Really, it's a
small-budget item.

This post is right on the money, watts mean dic if the the amps on the
rails minimal.
just get an enermax and you wont have to buy another ps for 10 years.

Just try it with your existing psu and see how things go. I was
pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't need to replace my enermax
when I upgraded to the following. A testament to the quality of
enermax psu's methinx!

Abit AV8
A64 3200
9800 pro
1GB corsair
2 x ATA HDD
All running on a **350W** enermax :)
