Hi all -

I'm looking for a self-contained digital still camera module. I need to be
able to trigger the capture of the image then download it through a serial
(or I2C) interface with a microcontroller. I'd like the module to be as
small as possible and to run on about 3.0 or 3.3 VDC.

Does anyone know of such an animal?

Thanks for any help.

You are going to need to think about some other specs as well.
Range of light intensity
Resolution
Equivilent shutter speed
etc.
Actually, something on the order of a web cam might be a good starting
point.

Look at this:

And look at this: (long list here)

There is PC control of some digital cameras. Nikon, Canon and Olympus have
models that can be computer controlled.

You have to have the software from the manufacturer to control some cameras.

There are also camera modules on a circuit board that just have the video
output. Most are for web cam or security camera use.
