Why don't you wait for a sale on NEC or LG? |

Howdy: I'm in the market for a low cost DVD burner and Newegg has
these two burner on sale today for the same price.
Lite-On 1693S
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106988
Pioneer 110DBK
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827129164
Either one for $40USD plus free shipping. Which unit do you folks
think is the most dependable unit? I'm not a 'power' burner. It would
just be for the occasional back up and to copy a DVD to keep the
original safe.
Thanks for any input.

I'm very happy with my external LiteOn. I didn't get any burner software |
when I bought my computer, so the RecordNow software was a welcome bonus. I
imagine either one will perform well.

I've got 8 LiteOns, with no complaints. Including the one your
considering. LiteOn normally updates their firmware regularly to
improve their burners. I wasn't happy with my one pioneer and
gave it away.
