Dell Inspiron 600M questions. |

I recently purchased a new Dell 600M laptop. My family now has four o
these. The newest one has VERY small icons and the screen is extremel
dark unless its plugged in. How can I fix these

As far as the small icons, go into control panel, display, settings and look at the |
resolution. It may have been set too high.

On the 700m to increase brightness, hold down the blue function key (next to
the left Cntrl key) and repeatedly press the up arrow.

Hi Wade;
To get the icons bigger right click on your desktop, click properties,go to
the appearance tab, click on the effects button near the bottom and put a
check in the box by use large icons. That worked for me on a Libretto that
had teeny tiny icons.

You are welcome.
Much of my use of my laptop has been using it for a GPS system on our trip
from Vancouver, WA down to Costa Mesa Ca via the coast route and then back
home via I-5. Worked great when within the various cities getting to and
from the various motels.

Are you using MS Streets & Trips? I've just received my first laptop,
Dell
Inspiron 6000. I have the Garmin Quest GPS and need the right cable to
make
the serial connection required by S & T. How are you connected?

I use Delorme Street Atlas 2005 with their GPS transceiver. It's connected
to the Dell Inspiron 700m via UPS which provides power and data signal.
