Just a note on how to get it to work the best.
1. Create a new TCP generic port (well connect to this as a local port)
2. Set if for LPR with Byte counting and name the que LPT
3. Install a new printer - call it a local printer - then select the
port you just created.
Do not install status monitor - it makes it take minutes to do anything
and will not ... not work in any real way (no ink levels)
Install the printer driver first though.
I found that this method works much faster than configuing it to work
as a network printer. Much faster (ie, when I click properties - it is
instant - not after 5 - 10 seconds as when you config it as a network
printer) It is faster all the way around - like directly connected via
usb - just no ink levels..
just fyi (mostly so I can remember next time I rebuild my pc and forget
how to do it though) |
