I have a XFX FX5700 Ultra With dual DVI. I was using 2 Samsung 191t's
(1280*1024) and the monitors displayed very different colors which I
attributed to the monitors not the card.

Well today I replaced the 191t's with 2 Samsung 204t's (1600*1200) and the
color difference still exists plus 1 monitor (the off color one) has random
color pixels all over the place. Is it a voltage thing or defective card?
Or am I missing something? Are the XFX cards unable to support 2 1600*1200
monitors? Am I expecting to much thinking the output color from each dvi
should be the same at this proice point? Intel mother board. 3.06
processor.

I've swapped cables and swapped monitors and one of the video card DVI
outputs are not right..

TIA

No takers??

I spoke to XFX and of course they wanted me to try card in differant
machine. 1 DVI output color off, artifacts, fonts look bad. If it were a
power issue wouldn't both dvi outputs be effected?

If your monitors don't have a problem with an older/alternate video
card, then it's clearly a display adapter issue. I doubt it's the
drivers, but for the hell of it, be sure to use the last official
Forceware's:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.85.html

If you want to try a slightly older version, just look on the ftp for
77.77, 78.05 or such:

ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/

Also, just becuase this has been "in vogue" lately for some reason: make
definitely sure you have your motherboard chipset drivers installed and
up to date. Some boards don't have any (like many Intels), but check
anyhow.

As a last point of debugging, you can see if XFX's assertion of power
issues is correct by lowering the total wattage requirements of your
system. Remove secondary devices like soundcards, unused network cards,
and tv tuners. Unplug any superfluous case fans (just your CPU HSF and
maybe a blower). Finally disconnect secondary hard drives (unless
necessary) and CD/DVD units.

You'll be bare bones at this point, but you'll boot and be using maybe
150-180 watts MAXIMUM. Probably far less depending on your CPU core.
This should allow plenty of leway for the videocard even if you don't
have the Molex connector plugged in off a clean line.

When all else fails, demand an RMA from XFX. They seem like a good
company so far in my experience and hopefully whatever they send you
back will work out.
