what brand printer paper would you recommend? |

I use an HP 6P laserjet printer. I used Hammermill brand paper for some
time and just switched to the Office Depot brand. I find Office Depot's
laser paper thicker and I am concerned about its long term effects on
the printer (the printer is old but with a new toner).
What brand (or what specs) are considered best for laserjet printers?
(I googled this but was unable to find anything on this.)

The best paper to use is plain and uncoated, designed for lasers or
copiers.
Do not use any kind of "multi-purpose" paper as it is usually coated,
which leaves dust particles inside your laser printer.
Brand does not matter. Buy whatever is cheapest and has the brightness
level you want. |

I always use 'wax coated' universal paper for laser and inkjet use and
never had any problems.
I 'would have imagined' that waxed paper offered protection against
loose paper particles by helping to bind fibres, this making the
paper smoother and taking the roughness out - thats the way I see it
and sure does seem logical to me.

The Office Depot paper I am currently using claims to be specifically
for laser printers. However, when I try double sided prints (duplex
printing?), I am having too many copies fail to go through the printer
for the second print. I had less of this issue with the Hammermill
paper. That's why I asked if brand would make a difference; and the
Office Depot paper is noticeably thicker and I wonder if thinner or
thicker paper is better.

Multi-Purpose paper is not a coated paper and is specifically designated for
use in copiers, laser printers and offset presses. If the paper is 20# or
24#, it will not be too thick as to damage a printer. In fact, some laser
printer models specify 24# as the default. 28# will also be okay, but it is
too thick for general usage and isn't readily available from retail outlets.

i used to use Office Depot paper. Now I use Hammermill. I did not have
any trouble with either but I like the bright white of the hammermill
