Problems installing TV Wonder PCI on Windows XP |
|
|
I'm trying to install a TV Wonder PCI card on a new Windows XP
machine. It worked the last time I tried it in the old machine
(Win2K).
I installed the three required files as listed on
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27
(DAO/MDAC, ATI TV-WONDER Drivers, and Multimedia Center). When I try
to launch "TV", I get the message
"Unable to Start TV. The TV player failed to initialize the video..."
The ATI site gives a lot of possible reasons for this but I think the
probable culprit would be the yellow "!"s beside "ATI TV Wonder Video
Capture" (Sound, Video, Game) and "Multimedia Video Controller"
(Other) in Device Manager.
I've tried re-installing the TV-Wonder drivers and when I restart
after that, hardware is detected -- the two items in the previous
paragraph, though nothing is done.
How can I get these drivers installed? It's a eMachines 3200+ with
NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX Integrated GPU, for which I've updated the
drivers.
Thanks!

Andrew,
What happens if you install the drivers via device manager using the
"Update driver" function on those two items?
