IP5200R or IP5000 with print server? |
|
|
I am thinking about buying another printer. I have bought several
Canon printers over the years and am pretty happy with them all. I
currently have the i850, i860, and the BJC-50.
I was thinking about getting a either an IP5200R or an IP5000. I have
two laptops at home, so I would really like the wireless feature.
I like the IP5000 because of it's cheaper ink prices. I don't use
non-OEM inks. I was wondering if I could use the automatic on and off
features on this printer if I use a print server? Also, if I got a
print server, I would like it to have USB 2.0.
Btw, I have a home network with two routers, one is wired-only, and the
other is wired and wireless with 802.11b and 802.11g.
I have found the IP5000 and IP5200 at a very similar prices, both close
to $200.00, with the IP5200R being about $30.00 to $40.00 more.
Is the IP5200R essentially identical to the IP5000, but with new, more
expensive ink?
Thanks for any help. |

THAT IS A FANTASTIC CHOICE. OEM INKS ARE THE BEST WAY TO AVOID |
PRINTHEAD CLOGS AND PRODUCE THE BEST RESULTS. THE DECISION YOU HAVE TO
MAKE IS A DIFFICULT ONE SINCE I HAVE NOT READ ANY TEST REPORTS ON IF THE
IP5200(r) HAS BEEN IMPROVED OR IF THE RESULTS ARE BETTER. I HAVE ALSO
NOT SEEN REPORTS ON CANON NEW INK.
ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THE OLDER CANON INK IS CHEAPER. I GET GREAT
RESULTS WITH MY CANON IP4000. THE IP5000 IS SOMEWHAT SLOWER BUT DOES
HAVE BETTER TEXT PRINTING.

IF YOU HAVE A FILE SERVER OR AN ALWAYS ON COMPUTER WHY DON'T YOU JUST |
ATTACH AN IP4000/5000/5200 TO THE MACHINE AND SHARE THE PRINTER. THEN
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY A SIRCHARCE FOR AN R SERIES.

NO. THE CANON SITE WILL ALLOW YOU TO COMPARE THE SPECIFICATIONS. |

So what you are saying now is you can put epson pigmented ink in the
canon ip6600d and have it operate for 6 months?
Or
You were testing the ip6600d and rigged the test by using a product you
know would work poorly so you could say the printer looks worse than
the ip4000?
or
You lied about having direct experence with the ip6600D, but you forgot
you lied about it and said you know nothing about the new inks today.
Which is it? We want to know! |

Actually... I just shouldn't listen to you. You see, most of us here
don't go out of our way to lie... it's mostly a bunch of people who
have legit questions and others provide legit answers. The majority go
out of their way to provide information in good faith. Sure it's
possible that people can be wrong at times, but it's their their intent
to deceive. You on the other hand, your only purpose here is to
promote Canon's printers and ink... to attempt to discredit 3rd party
solutions by any means nessicarly including bold faced lies, and
harrass anyone who disagrees with you. You freely admited this is
because you were treated unfiarly months ago.
You see... most of us don't get off on providing misinformation... with
kindness and the upmost respect it's just you. |

CANON PRINTERS (FOR MOST PHOTO PURPOSES) ARE THE BEST

CANON INK IS THE BEST FOR THE CANON PRINTER

Another lie, I have never hidden the fact that I am in a related business,
unlike you who conceals everything especially any intellect or integrity.
Of course I give advice here, hopefully useful, but I make no money here
directly or indirectly. You do not know where I live or where I operate and if
you were to guess correctly I would deny it, so how can I make any money here?
You have said public relations makes me money here; exactly how that would do
it escapes me since I do not allow my location or company name to appear here.
Just another piece of deliberate Measekite michievousness.
