I have the above card & a Sony 19" flatscreen. Both have both analog & DVI
connections. And the manual says it gives priority to a DVI connection.
From what I've read, the DVI should give a better onscreen image. But I'm
not sure if everything goes through both. So, do I hook up both or
disconnect the analog?

Use one or the other, not both.

Am I Batman or Superman? I'm so confused.

OK. I just wasn't sure if the difference would be at a software or hardware
level. Thanks.

Hardware, but both the card and the monitor hardware. That is, some
display manufacturers go where it is the easiest and either one of the
two connectors give considerably better picture, the other just hanging
around (a few cheap components, some quick-and-dirty planning and wiring
and that's it, it works but not well) for marketing reasons. The card
manufacturers do this, too, and it is up to you to find the option that
works best with your setup.

Well, I think I found it. The DVI hookup isn't recognized. So, I guess I
don't get a choice. :-(

No, just hook up the DVI. For sure it gives a better image. If I
understand you, you're asking if some things won't display through the
DVI? That's not the case. Your screen sounds gorgeous, I'm jealous.

Yes, the Sony is great! But, for some reason, even though the docs say
it'll automatically choose a DVI connection, it doesn't seem to recognize
anything's connected there. Doesn't seem to matter which OS. It starts
saying there's no DVI signal. I wonder if there's a jumper setting or
something that I'm missing on the Radeon card. The DVI cable was supplied
with the monitor. Maybe the pinout is different than what the Radeon is
sending out on?
