DVD Burning Failure with Nero |
|
|
Hi,
I just installed a DVD writer, and I can't write DVD's with Nero
6.6.0.16. I get an "Invalid field in command" error at the beginning
of the writing process, although the simulation succeeded. However, it
works fine with Pinnacle InstantDisc, which was supplied with the
device.
The only possible problem I may think of is that, when I replaced my
old CD writer provided with my PC, with my new DVD writer, I noticed
that both optical devices (the other being the Compaq DVD player) were
both on "CS". So I installed the DVD writer the same way, instead of
one drive in MA and the other in SL.
Would that be the cause of the failure in Nero?
Below is the Nero log.
Thanks in advance.

That would not have been an OEM version of Nero that was keyed
to that CD writer would it ??? I know there are versions out there
that come with the CD/DVD writer that will only work with that model.

No.

Your DVD-ROM is not on DMA. Go into the BIOS and set to ON.
You must have snipped out some log before the "Invalid field in command"
in #28, like SCSI_ERR, KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR? Could you post the complete
log for #26 -- #28?

I figured. Actually, I changed them to MA and SL, and it didn't change
a thing.

OK. Does it need to be done with both drives?

No, I didn't make any change to the log. I also thought the the error
message was pretty short...
The strangest thing is that Nero can burn CD's (but not DVD-R's), and
that other burning softwares write DVD's correctly.

No, I bought it separately.

Would that be the cause of the failure in Nero?
No.
I figured. Actually, I changed them to MA and SL, and it didn't change
a thing.
Below is the Nero log.
Your DVD-ROM is not on DMA. Go into the BIOS and set to ON.
OK. Does it need to be done with both drives?

Check both drives when you are in the BIOS.

in #28, like SCSI_ERR, KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR? Could you post the complete
log for #26 -- #28?
No, I didn't make any change to the log. I also thought the the error
message was pretty short...
The strangest thing is that Nero can burn CD's (but not DVD-R's), and
that other burning softwares write DVD's correctly.

Try uninstall/reinstall Nero. |

I just installed a DVD writer, and I can't write DVD's with Nero
6.6.0.16. I get an "Invalid field in command" error at the beginning
of the writing process, although the simulation succeeded. However, it
works fine with Pinnacle InstantDisc, which was supplied with the
device.

Did you try Track at Once? |
