Typing in all capital letters does little but make it appear
that you have insufficient experience on the 'net to have an
informed opinion.
I did randomly pick a product and compared on Pricegrabber.
Newegg was only $1 higher than the lowest vendor, BEFORE
adding the shipping cost. AFTER adding shipping cost,
Newegg was lower. "Sometimes", on some items you will find one store
a dollar
or two cheaper than another, BUT then one also has to factor
in the addt'l shipping costs to use multiple vendors. You
also have to factor for the return hassles, as even quality
name-brand products are occasionally defective or otherwise
problematic. Dealing with some of the low-ball vendors on
Pricegrabber or pricewatch can easily cost an extra hour or
more in time trying to resolve problems. With Newegg, that
whole process is painless, you don't even have to call or
email them- just complete the RMA form on their 'site and
mail the product back. Very shortly after they receive it,
you are notifed of the resolution.

It's the only way our army can run, after the Waco Massacre and most

citizens.
Until well into the Iraq fiasco, the military (including the reserves
and guard) had no problems in meeting their recruitment goals.

That's not what I heard. The Army was behind and even the USAF
suffered recruitment shortfalls for the first time in its history.

The Waco Massacre was a blatant violation of Posse Comitatus. My son

for ROTC because of the way the US Military had slaughtered 80
innocent men, women and children at Waco and then lied thru their
teeth to cover it up.

OK, I picked the NEC 3540. Pricegrabber did not report the prices
accurately. For example, the price depends on the color, so let's pick
the beige unit.
Newegg: No beige unit available.
Directron: Beige NEC ND-3520A 16x DVD Double Layer Burner, DVD+/-RW,
OEM Regular price: $42.99 On Sale: $39.99
My point is you are better off looking the prices up directly on the
suppliers' websites.

I do not have any links - I don't bookmark that sort of stuff. I
believe I read it on one of the DVD forums a couple months ago, so if
you are really interested you can google for it, keyword "newegg".

Problem being newegg is like a top keyword for the site... and the
fact of the matter is most people are happy with them. Again i'm not
saying what you said isn't true... just simply it doesn't track with my
experence.
To at least backup your statement
[http://www.epinions.com/Newegg_com_Online_Stores_Services/display_~reviews/sec_~survey_list/pp_~29]
Google search: newegg problem open box
I have heard of odd ball experences that simply didn't track. For
example I had issues with my mp760... feed problem... paper jam sensor
was stuck. According to what I read by one person [I also don't have a
link handy] they got their rebate and canon refered them to newegg for
a printer replacement, which couldn't be handled because the barcode
was missing... but when I talked to canon support about my printer it
was replaced without a hitch. My box was long since gone, I didn't
have to provide proof of ownership, everything was 100% groovy.
My experence with newegg has been 100% postive. Refurb items were
clearly marked as such. |

My son bought an NEC 3540 from Newegg - no problems at all. I shop
Directron because it is a short distance from my home. But if they do
not have an item or their other company Axion Tech, then I look to
Newegg next.

I second NewEgg. They usually are within $5-$10 of the cheapest prices

As far as other places I like to look in case NewEgg's price doesn't

favorites. ResellerRatings.com also has the advantage of people rating
the customer service of the site.

THERE ARE MANY REASONS THAT WHAT YOU SAY IS NONSENSE. I WILL POST ONE |
OF THEM. I BOUGHT SPEAKERS LAST YEAR. I WENT TO THE SUPPLIERS WEBSITE
AND SAW THE POSTED PRICE. I THEN WENT TO PRICEGRABBER AND LINKED FROM
PRICEGRABBER TO THE SAME SUPPLIERS WEBSITE AND GOT A LOWER PRICE. I
CALLED THE SUPPLIER TO FIND OUT WHY THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. THEY TOLD ME
THAT WHEN USING PRICE COMPARISONS SITES THEY WILL HAVE SPECIAL PRICES
FOR THE COMPARISONS SITES CUSTOMERS. THEY SAID THIS IS COMMON IN THE
INDUSTRY.
SO ALWAYS CHECK A NUMBER OF PRICE COMPARISON SITES. YOU MAY FIND
DIFFERENT PRICES FROM THE SAME VENDOR ON DIFFERENT SITES.

NO NO |
I TYPE IN UPPERCASE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MY KEYBOARD DOES BUT WHEN I
PRINT OUT WHAT I TYPE IT COMES OUT IN LOWERCASE. THAT IS BECAUSE THE
PRINTER SOFTWARE RECOGNIZES THAT I AM SMART ENOUGH TO USE OEM INK AND
PRINTING IN LOWER CASE USES LESS INK.
