yarq ... 7800GTX => EVGA vs ASUS which one? |
|
|
Hi all,
The fastest version of the 7800GTX seems to be currently produced
by EVGA (e-GeForce 7800 GTX KO) featuring GPU 490Mhz and
memory speed of 1300Mhz but it is pricy and it is not attractively
bundled like the ASUS counterpart e.g. Video Security.
Have anyone had the same indecision? anyone owning any of the two
cards? Any hints greatly appreciated ...
I have beaten all my records of waiting for a gadget :) it is more than
six months since I returned the disappointing XFX 6600 GT and still
waiting to get the Video Card upgrade of my dreams :) I have only
4 pixel pipelines in my current one ;P
Best Regards,
Giovanni |

If you absolutely have to have the fastest card, you're gonna pay for it.
There are other factory overclocked cards that are almost as fast for a lot
less. The BFG costs $80 US less than the Asus version. The Asus is clocked
at 486/1350. The BFG at 460/1300. |

I've had Asus, Creative, PNY, Diamond and eVGA branded nVidia based cards.
One thing I will say after owning 3 eVGA cards is they are solid and
reliable. Even more so than my Asus cards. The others aren't even in the
running in this issue. Quality product does seem to matter to eVGA.
