I had to recently reinstall my OS. Previously with my dual monitor
setup, which I use an ATI 8500 card in the AGP slot and and ATI Rage in
the PCI slot, I had a feature that is not available after reinstalling.

Previously if I right clicked in the title bar of a window there was an
option that with onbe click would move the window to the other monitor.
This was very fast and did not require you to drag and position the
window to the other monitor.

Can anyone tell me why I might not be seeing this after reinstalling?

There is a program called Ultamon that does what you want. I use it for Dual
Monitors and it has many
more options. Go to www.ultamon.com for a trial version.

Also, just to cover all the bases. Did you have an established machine with
one card already in ( the 800?) and running fine, then you added a second
card? That would be fine. The OS (xp?) handled the process painlessly as
the second card was an add on and did not conflict with the already
established primary video card. The drivers did not conflict and all was
well.

Or, are you rebuilding with both cards installed and wanting the same thing.
This does not always go the way you want. You may have physically the same
hardware, but the software may be at fault. Your old drivers and the order
you had them were probably fine in that situation. But now, you may of have
had windows update or use a different driver and alter an otherwise working
relationship between your cards.

I have like many tried several combinations of drivers and os's with
differing results.

Try loading one card, and then the other. Dont have the OS do both on a
fresh rebuild. I personally have found that does not work when both are
installed on a fresh load.

Hey you smart fellow! That is precisely what happened; the firsttime I
got 2 cards working, I had at first had the 8500 on the AGP slot,
attempting to go dual I added a PCI Rage. Went through the learning
curve to get them working> Took forever to discover you have to change
the CPU bios to boot to the PCI to make dual work. And then jumped
through the Windows hoops and finally it worked. That was all under
W2K. After 5 years my W2K install finally bit the big one and since I
had a "real" copy of XP decided to do the big upgrade. Installed XP
with both cards installed.

So the drill would be;
uninstall both drivers
shut the machine down
uninstall the PCI card
boot the machine
let it find AGP card and install device
shut down machine
reinstall PCI card
change boot monitor to PCI
let it find new card and install drivers

sure apprecuate your help; next new system I build I'm using a card
with 2 vga connectors, I only got the All in Wonder for the video
capture, got Tivo about a year ago and haven't used video capture since
them:)
