Security webcam software needed |
|
|
I am trying to use my webcam as a security camera so that I can keep an
eye on my home through the Internet when I'm not there. Can someone
with experience in the subject please recommend a good software
package? So far three candidates are top on my list:
1. CoffeCup WebCam 3.5
2. Crime Catcher 3.1
3. PC Private Eye 3.1
thanks |

I use HomeWatcher.... v 1.5 (build 0128) for my webcam.
http://www.rubbertoe.com/webcam/index.html
It doesn't do streaming video, but it will take images at specified
intervals when it detects motion, create time-lapse AVIs of all the action,
upload batches of images and videos at specified times, send you an e-mail
when motion is detected, has masking for blocking out areas where you want
motion to be allowed but not captured, etc. You can try the free version,
which might be enough for you, at http://www.homewatcher.com
Toe. Satisfied customer.

You may want to check the Ivista security webcam software people
are currently selling on ebay for ~$10. It motion detects and
saves pix, and such, and ti streams the video and AUDIO, which
tell you more about what is going on in the house than the video. |
