Advice re best suited camera for trainee digial imaging tech |
|
|
Hi,
I'm currently doing a digital imaging course where for the first half
we're learning about Photoshop and photo editing. As part of that we
have to build up a photographic portfolio of "interesting" photographs.
My camera of a few months has been an Olympus Camedia C220 which I
picked up for £58.74 and it's served its purpose doing your simple point
and click snaps.
However now I'm being taught to think more about the pictures I@m taking
and what I'm actually doing with the camera eg basic photography type
stuff. As you can appreciate the C220 is a little..."lacking" in
features bar white balance. In classes I've been learning abut shutter /
apeture priority and so on. So I thought it would be worthwhile getting
something a little more feature laden...
What I must stress here is I'm not made of money so I don't have the
cash to go blowing money on digital SLR's or such like but I sort of
like £100-200 ish but lower is better.
My "requirements" are not lots of megapixels more the control I have
over the shot and so things like shutter priority / apeture priority and
so on. My interest is in landscape photography particularly.
Anyhow yesterday I bought a Fujifilm Finepix S3500 for £130 from Dixons.
4 megapixel camera, 6x zoom, apeture priority control but I'm sure most
people known the deal about that...
My question BASICALLY is am I getting the best camera for my money here
or would it be best to exchange it? If so to what based on my
requirements? (and still be able to afford associated accessories like
extra memory and cases.
