While refilling ink cartridges yourself is the cheapest, it is not
necessarily the best way to go. Refilling can be messy. If your print
cartridge has a chip in it, the refill may work the first time, but may
refuse to work as the cartridge is reused and ages. Using
remanufacturered and off-brand cartridges is also chancy. They may leak
causing print head damage. If your printer is old or you only paid $30
for it, the cost savings may be worthwhile. If you paid $150 or more for
your printer, you may want to stick to purchasing cartridges from the
manufacturer.

Refilling can be messy if you're not careful, so take your time over it.
If your print cartridge has a chip in it, you can get software to reset
the chip. Using remanufacturered and off-brand cartridges can also be a
money saver. They're unlikely to leak or cause print head damage. If
your printer is old or you only paid $30 for it, throw it away. If you
paid $150 or less for your printer, you may want to buy a better quality
one.

So, I see you've joined the church!

DUH! Anytime you deal with ink and tendacies to fill the cart to the
max will get a tad messy. Even then I usually have paper towel nearby
for spills or leaks.

NICE

NOPE

And how many printer does this? AFAIK Epson is the only one that has
anti-refill chip design.

EPSON SAYS IT IS A PRINT PROTECTOR DESIGN AND WID DERE PERMENANT HEAD I

BELIEVE DEM.

Very few non Epson gives any trouble about
reusing carts and I have yet to run into a non Epson that won't let me
reuse the same cart more than a couple times. Current stats: HP 17 is
over 1 year old, refilled 8 times and still working just fine.

USING AFDERMARKEET INK IN DA FOG WIL LEAD TO A PRINTHEED CLOG.

Never ran into that yet. And I have bought really cheap cart off
unknown source on eBay. Even companies that does refilling service
knows if they sell mostly leaky carts that ruined printers, lawsuit
will follow for cost of repair or replacement printers.

measekite-- agreeing that refilled cart is OK...???? Someone check
and see if hell froze over!

My printer was originally over $200 new. Never had problem with
refilled or remanufactured carts. I figure I saved over $1,000 on
refilling vs new carts and that's just ONE printer out of 3 ink jets I
had. The other 2 older printers were retired while still working
fine. As long as a DIY ink refilling is done properly, it won't harm
the printer at all.

Even the expensive printer, the ink saving more than offset the cost
of new printer in the short run. YMMV though.

Today there aren't many ink jet printer that goes over $150 and most
of them are often not for customer level anyway (ie high volume
printer)

It's far too easy and indeed logical to 'fill to the brim', commo
sense ought to tell you not to do this

Another cause is filling too quickly and I would say that this is th
most common cause of disasters

It is ink that needs going into the tank not 'air'

This is actually sound advice, somewhat. I bought the cheepo canon
first... tried MIS ink on it, saw how well it worked and used it for my
not so cheapo canon. Very reasonable.

That's your choice. But that's the thing... there is choice. I am
mature enough to respect that you decide to buy the premium priced
product. I only wish you would be just as mature and respect the fact
that others choose another brand.

It's now evident that meashershithead is an old fool. His recent

copyright violation and regular lying are examples of an older
individual who has not grown into a wise old person but instead has
become and old fool.

THE SOLUTION IS TO BUY A CANON MP780. BETTER YET BUY SEPARATES. CANON
PRINTER, EPSON SCANNER, AND THEN GOOD FAX SOFTWARE.
