Epson has one IIRC. Epson Stylus Photo RX700. A tad spendy.

Canon has several but the feature is not enabled in the USA. Visit
http://pixma.webpal.info/ for details. the mp750/760/780 all have been
tested to work with "tray type b".

Not true! In fact the new Pixmas include rollers on the USA models.
They are designed to work just fine only the feature is disabled and
there is a piece of plastic you need to remove. . It *IS* an option.

Besides I said "Canon has several but the feature is not enabled in the
USA. Visit
http://pixma.webpal.info/ for details." I don't think I could be
anymore clear.

Epson R200 or R300 (same printer engine as R200 but more bells and

whistles) or (I think) R800. R200 is the cheapest - less than $100 in
Canda, probably $60 or $70 US.

I think that they're talking about all-in-one, not just printers...R300,
R200....or I'm crazy??

:)

No sir... it's designed to work just fine, as in physicaly everything
you need is all there. This is unlike the i865 and i965 which requires
extra hardware above and beyond the tray. Canon designed the pixma
series to actually work in the usa but to have the feature enabled and
disabled. This is an after thought, not part of the physical design.

But I think this was covered perfectly fine in my simple statement
"Canon has several but the feature is not enabled in the USA." Even if
you were correct your statement would be redundant. For all *you* know
they designed the printer to have the feature enabled so they can sell
the printer in *North America* without paying Phillips their license
fee. Which btw it's the whole of North America not just the USA. Do
try to get your facts stright. Thank you.

Nope, that's what the person was asking about. Understandable error as
in the american market near as i'm aware there is really only one all
in one with cd printing... so one tends to think epson R series. This
is rather why I went through so much bother and effort finding out how
to enable the feature on canons as at the time I bought mine there were
no AIOs with CD printing.

Except the CD tray, which you can either make or purchase aftermarket.

AFAIK, the x000 units have no roller bar assembly, but just a cover
where the CD tray goes. You can remove the cover and manually use a CD
try then, after the eeprom adjustment and alternative drivers and
application. Optionally, you can get an OEM roller bar.
The newer Pixmas with chipped in have the "world" style roller bar, so
all you need is the tray and do the eeprom/software mods.

While refilling ink cartridges yourself is the cheapest, it is not
necessarily the best way to go. Refilling can be messy. If your print
cartridge has a chip in it, the refill may work the first time, but may
refuse to work as the cartridge is reused and ages. Using
remanufacturered and off-brand cartridges is also chancy. They may leak
causing print head damage. If your printer is old or you only paid $30
for it, the cost savings may be worthwhile. If you paid $150 or more for
your printer, you may want to stick to purchasing cartridges from the
manufacturer.

You see, you're not adding anything to the discussion. I said "feature
not enabled" in the USA and you said "designed not to work". You don't
know for a fact that Canon designed the printer not to work in the
north american market, it could have been part of their plan to make
the feature easy to enable so users could have their spiffy feature and
they woudln't have to pay any money to phillips. You with all due
respect don't know what it was designed to do because you don't know
the designers.

The feature is not enabled. Order a tray press some buttons, perhaps
order some rollers if you really want all available from e-bay and
poof.

Correct... you can get away without the roller assembly. Worst case
you have to push the tray in, best case it'll operate as usual. But
this is a mark improvement over the i865/i965 which had a seperate Tray
Guide unit [QM2-0626-000]. The settings are well documented by this
point and the trays sold on e-bay for between $20 and $40.

Anyone wanting an AIO printer in north america can pick epson who have
one, or pick a canon if they are willing to buy the tray on e-bay and
punch a few buttons.
