suggestions please |

Right now I have an Olympus 740 uz. My almost 17 yr old daughter wants a
digital camera for Christmas. She just wants to take pictures. Zoom is not
a big factor for her, although I know she would like at least 3x optical
which seems to be the standard. She does not want it to as big as mine...
(Mine big?) but she doesn't want a tiny thing either. Its a Olympus 740 uz
that ain't big... she should see some of the others. Anyway any suggestions
on what I should get her? She has a cannon pixma 3000 printer and I have a
i9900 printer. Also any suggestions on a camera for me... Zoom (optical) is
very important for me.

If you like Olympus, the C-7000 is a good choice. Not too big, and
not too small. Even though she thinks the zoom isn't an issue, I'm
sure in time she will really apprecite the 5x zoom on the c-7000
(especially if photographing people - I always feel that that to get a
good tight close-up with a 3x you gotta be in the subject's face too
much, which makes most subjects a little uncomfortable). |

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't say I like or dislike Olympus... I bought
Olympus because I wanted as much zoom as possible and at best buy they said
either the Olympus 740uz or some Kodak one... the Kodak one didn't seem to
fit well when I held it and the zoom button was awkward also didn't feel
well.
