Hi,

Approx a year ago I backed up My documents to a DVD, I tested it and
archived it.

Now, I need to retrieve data off of it, when I put the DVD in the
drive, the autoplay comes up as blank DVD.

I go into Nero and use disc info and am able to see the following:
http://www.geocities.com/yankeesfan4ever2002/session.JPG

Looks to me as if the session wasn't closed properly, how do I close
the session so I can access my files?

The DVD was burned from a different PC than the one I'm trying to read
with.

Regards,

Try IsoBuster to recover with the DVD in a burner:
http://www.isobuster.com

If IsoBuster is able to recover the files, try burn some more files to
the DVD by "Continue Multisession" with the burner that burned it
originally.

Thanx for replying SMH, however, trying isobuster gives the following
error message:
http://www.geocities.com/yankeesfan4ever2002/isobuster.JPG

I can't get past, no matter which option I choose.

I don't have easy access to the original PC, but I tried to continue
the session with my PC but couldn't.
No matter what I clicked on I couldn't get the OK button to 'light up'
http://www.geocities.com/yankeesfan4ever2002/nero.JPG

Did IsoBuster give "Sector 16 couldn't be read" when you right-click the
track and select Extract Track? Did you get to see the options for
extract?

Sector 16 is the start of ISO file system with Primary Volume Descriptor
which points to other data structures like Root directory. Thus, if
Sector 16 can't be read the chances of recovery is remote.

IsoBuster, right-click the track, Sector view, and see if you can view
sectors past sector 16.

Run ScanDisc of Nero CD-DVD Speed and see if there are no other disc
errors.

Other recovery softwares:

DVD Data Rescue
http://www.naltech.com/

CDRoller
http://www.cdroller.com/

Stellar Phoenix CD ROM 2.0
(This seemed to be CD only)
http://www.softforall.com/AuthorPage/Stellar_Phoenix_Data_Recovery_Software.htm

If the data is really valuable:

Acodisc CD & DVD Data Recovery Services
