I have a 9800 Pro which is over two years old (it's maybe 10% slower than a
9800XT) and I've had no issues with it overheating. I don't overclock,
however. |

Check out the reviews. I believe the 6600 handles OGL better, and may be
slightly faster overall than the 9800 (which I own). |

Neither, get the X800GTO. :-)
If you must select one of the two, get the 6600GT. It's up to 40% faster at
higher AA settings. Heat is not an issue on the 9800XT.

Re: 9800 |

I just "tried" upgrading my 9800 pro to an MSI 6600 with 256 and was
disappointed to say the least.... it spent a total of 5 hours in my system
trying to tweak and adjust settings to get even "as good as" performance,
but all in all, my benchmarks in aquamark3d and 3dmark03 were at LEAST
10,000 points lower, RMA'd it back and bought an ATI x800gto 256 cant wait
til it gets here to see how this one does..... hopefully it'll at least beat
my 9800 pro, but, so far, unless you're willing to shell out $500 for the
top of the line cards.... the 9800 pro is still the card to beat!!

The guy is asking about the 6600gt, which is a faster card, (than the 6600),
if I am not mistaken.
Like comparing a 9800 to a 9800 pro wouldn't it?
