PSP Pro-X pluging for .RAF Raw files ?? |
|
|
Does Corel PSP-X (or PSP9, for that matter) support the Fuji .RAF (RAW file)
format ? Is there a plug-in for it, if so, where ?. I have searched
extensively for this plug-in. I have just purchased PSP-X expecting it to do
it, but it doesn't seem to support this format without a plug-in.
I have e-mailed Fuji who said:
Thank you for your email.
The software that comes with the camera will mearly just enable you to
convert your RAW files to a Tiff. Once they are in Tiff format you can use
the finepix viewer to do some basic editing such as removing red eye or
cropping.
No RAW files are "standard" each camera with a RAW facility will produce
RAW files in a slightly different way due to the make up of the CCD. For a
program such as Paintshop pro or Photoshop you will need to plugin to enable
it to read the individual format of this camera, we would advise that you
contact the company that produces this software and ask if they have written
such as plugin to enable you to use your RAW files in their software.
Sincerely, Fujifilm
Please help, i'm now back to square one !!!!
Kind Regards,
Andrew |

Hi, andy, I have an S5100 and am just looking at RAW and see we are in
the same boat. FYI, I thought Photoshop Elements 2.0 on my Mac might
open them, but no. I also thought Photoshop CS1 on my PC might open
them, but no. I guess we will keep looking and I will post if I learn
anything.
BTW, my Fuji Raw File Converter-converted TIFFs are awesome!

Thanks Jerry. So do you just shoot in RAW mode then save straight to .TIFF
and edit using the .TIFF file in your photo software ?. Then what do you
save the final edit as, .JPG or .TIFF ??
Cheers
Andy
