Clone hard drive? |
|
|
Hi - I want to clone my main drive and then substitute the new for old.
Questions:
Do I need to use the same Mfr? (Maxtor, e.g.)
Same file system necessary?
If I get an external drive with USB can I take the external out after it has
been cloned and put it in the slot where my existing drive is?
Thanks

Same manufacturer: no |
Same file system: yes, that goes along with making an _identical_ clone
copy.
External USB: yes, probably, that is the way I've cloned notebook drives
for upgrades and it has worked fine using Apricorn's upgrade software.
