NOW WHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE WILL THEY TELL YOU WHAT INK IS IN THE PREFILLED

Or you can buy the bulk ink
and refill, which is very quick and simple to do.

I bought some black cartridges from megatoners.com but the black
doesn't seen very black. i don't want to spend too money buying
genuine cartridges. does anyone know where i can get better black
cartridges. TIA
Are you talking the black seen when you print text or when you print
photos on photo paper. The ip3000 shouldn't be using black on photos
but rather mixing cyan magenta yellow to make black. A different black
tank won't help you there as far as i'm aware.
The OEM black from Canon is pretty good and one wouldn't be foolish
buying it. The price is reasonable and the quality excelent. The
stuff i've been buying from inksupply.com is OK, the bulk ink but the
drytime is longer.
i'm talking about black ink on text document. how much does oem
cartridges usually run?

Pigment and Dye. AFAIK, the 3000 has pigment only, the 4000 and up have
both. The higher end printers will also have a photo black.

With all due respect, i'm not the one who said "BLACK IS BLACK", which
it totally not the case. I can understand the urge to call someone a
smuck for being so ignorant about the printer they own that has dye and
pigment black to say "black is black" but I can understand that you
know so little about your printer you were unaware of the difference.
Anyhow that is beside the point... the point is some dye is darker than
others. |

Don't be so hard on your self. The big one is pigment used for plain
paper, the little one is dye used for photos if color is 80% black or
higher. HTH. |

Is it worth pointing out that the ip3000 uses only pigment black an
not a dye based black
Would all the pre-filled tanks be pigment - even the so-calle
universal one's..

Not from a good vendor, they will have proper dye cartridges, as needed.

If you are paying for just ink, you are paying $3000/gal for ink,
something that can be had for less than $300/gal. You are not getting
what you are paying for. |

But just because I disagree with one of your bullet points doesn't make
