Hi,

Thinking of buying a Acer 3032wlmi laptop. I've seen it advertised
with either a 128mb Mobility Radeon X600 or a 128mb Radeon Xpress 200M
graphics card. Both are offered at the same £699.95 price.

Simple questions which one is better and will they do what I want them
to do.

This will be surf the net use office 2003 applications, digital photo
stuff using Photoshop Elements and play strategy games like Age of
Empires 3 etc and simulator games like Microsoft Train simulator.

Or are there any lower price alternatives to this.

Either one will provide hardware video that you probably will never
fully use. The Express 200M is based on the X300 PCI Express desktop
card so the X600 will (theoretically) provide some incremental
performance. Note that both Nvidia and ATI play a lot of games with
their video cards, so IMO it is likely that both have much the same
performance from a user viewpoint. I would go with the X600 since it is
a later card. www.ati.com should have a description of what each does.

I would also consider the quality and reliability of the manufacturer,
and their after sales service and repair.

I would not buy Acer again.
