Good MF printer with ADF? |
|
|
What inexpensive multifunction printer would anyone here recommend that
has an automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning? I had my heart set
on a Canon Pixma MP750, but Canon has quit making them, and the price
(on the inventory that's left) has really shot up. (More than doubled
in the last couple of months) They still make the MP780, but it has fax
(which I don't need), and hate to pay extra for a function I don't
need.
The reason I liked Canon, besides decent reviews, is that the ink tanks
are separate.
I currently have an Epson Stylus 600 printer (old) that works well, but
has that clogging problem. I'm forever having to unclog the print
heads, and from what I've heard, Epson hasn't yet solved that problem.
(On the flip side, ink is cheap) So I'm really not considering Epson
unless someone knows they've fixed it.
Lexmark, heard from everyone I know that they suck.
Hewlett Packard has a large line of multifunctions with ADF, but the
problem with them is that the ink is so expensive and no separate ink
tanks. (On the other hand, I don't have separate color tanks on my
Epson either, but the ink is dirt cheap) I've also heard from a few
people that they suck too.
Can anyone here recommend a Hewlett Packard? They do seem to have more
options than Canon, which seems to be phasing out their MFs with ADF.
I just bought a new computer, so the Epson won't even work on it
without buying an adapter. (It's a serial connector, not USB)
Any recommendations? Pros, cons?
Thanks in advance! |
