Change the bit setting to "dvd-rom", it'll read then. Latest build of Nero
will allow you to change bit setting.
6.6.0.3. www.ahead.de
For info on bit setting and how to do it read the Plextor forum over at

I use my px-712a as my only optical drive. It seems to write cds and
dvds fine, and does 12x on compatible dvds.
The only problem i get is when i read the dvds back. Sometimes it
takes as long as two mins to recognise the dvd. This is with both dvds
recorded wit the px712a and dvds written on dads liteon 811s. I know
the dvds i write are ok as they read in dads liteon drve. Sometimes
the drive fails to recognise the dvd at all. Is this commn with
plextor drives? i have firmware 1.05 installed.
I could recify read problems by installing a second drive, as ive seen
a samsung dvd rom for £13 at ocuk near where i live. but is this a
common problem people are having. Also this drive is less than 6
months old so i may take it back for exchange.
