There are no drivers, AFAIK, that will modify a mounted ISO image, they are
read-only. An ISO image can only be written in it's entirety.
Suggest you look into DVD-RAM. DVD-RW is too unreliable for day-to-day
operations with packet-writing.
With an external burner, RAM drivers may be limited to InCD, which is still
packet-writing but more reliable with RAM discs. The Panasonic RAM driver
may or may not work with specific external drives, but it is more reliable
than InCD. The Panasonic driver can be modded to accept additional burners
in external boxes. Right now, the Matsushita(Panasonic) or LG burner is the
best option for RAM disc writing, but new drives from NEC and others are
coming.

I'm looking for a virtual CD Writer driver.
I've got a slim type laptop with no internal cd writer, but I have a
requirement to write ISO files (or similar image) from a program while
on the move. The program in question needs to use a 'physical' CDR
device which it will find itself - it can't use an external program
like Nero to write the images.
My idea is that there must be some software which will create a virtual
CDR. I've found Daemon Tools, but this seems to create CD readers only.
Any ideas!?
