Has any body had any experience, good or bad, with this printer?

Given the fact that the printer was released within the past month, and
the fact it's not even in most retail stores yet, you'd be lucky to
find anyone with any experence with this printer. If this doesn't make
you feel comfortable the old ip4000R is still sold here and there and
tends to cost a tad bit less. From my understanding plane non-duplex
text has remained unchanged. You'd lose some new paper types listed in
the driver, nice LED lights that indicate when a cartridge is empty,
improved metering via chiped tanks, but you will find people with
experience.

As the previous post said it's a new printer that's not probably ha
time to be valuated

I have the ip5000 which is almost the same as the ip4000, it's give
excellent service to date, not one single clog in four months and no
one single manual head clean required

The text on this is as good as the Samsung laser, at least I have
printer that is reliable compared to the two Epsons I had and a lo
more economical with the inks, I ain't running to the shops as ofte
for ink like I did with the other and I don't have to check th
print's for flaws either

Absolutely right. It don't make a speck of difference whether you use
Canon inks, non-Canon, bulk, prefilled or refilled. Canon printers will
generally only clog on you if seriously under use them. The inks are
quick drying so they have a natural tendency to clog in the worst place
- the printhead. But anyone who uses them... oh a couple of times a
week, shouldn't have any problems. Sorry, I can't speak for longer than
that because I generally use both of mine at least twice a week.

Thanks to your positive, clog-free reviews, guys, I've ordered a refill
kit for my Canon. Can't wait to save some of that money for better
things than common ink. It's not like Canon has a secret recipe.

More power to you. I use MIS inks my self but might switch to Media
Street plug and play inks as there is a dealer online who's closer and
from swab tests they look like the same stuff... Image Specalists to be
exact. Anyhow in all fairness on the same media it apears that the
canon OEM inks are more lightfast than what i'm using. But I don't
feel it's worth spending $3000/gal when I can get stuff for $300/gal
esp since canon inks are not very lightfast to begin with.

http://www.neilslade.com/Papers/inktest.html

I'm willing to believe that different medium will affect the printhead
life differently. This is a reasonble assumption. But if you make it
past 2.5 refills you saved so much that if you had to buy a new printer
you'd still be saving money.

What a terrible thing to say. You said in the past that you don't like
people getting cheated yet at the same time you hope the product they
buy causes damage? Just because someone doesn't go to the measekite
church of oem ink does not mean they deserve a damage. If you trully
believe what you said you would hope that their choice, one that you
disagree with, wouldn't cause them damage.
